18th LiDBA Charity Bike Ride
Sunday 8th June 2008
Another year passes and another bike ride in the beautiful countryside around Liphook awaits!
This is the 18th consecutive year and it is hoped that this year's ride, on Sunday 8th June, will once again attract the 1000 plus riders who enjoy the day and in doing so help raise much needed money for local charities and causes thereby helping the young, disadvantaged and more elderly in our community.
For the younger riders we also organise a circuit ride on the Bohunt School field so that they can add their efforts and support charities and causes while having a great time.
When the first ride was organised we didn't envisage that we would still have the energy to be organising the event 18 years on and without a break. Even less did we imagine that the rides could provide the opportunity to raise nearly £600,000 !
Many riders are entered by the registered charities and causes and their fundraising organisers work tirelessly to bring their teams together and ensure the administrative interface runs smoothly. If you wish to ride for one of the "organised" teams we know they would be delighted to have your support. Please see the list of charities.
Alternatively if you instead wish to support our causes as a whole, obtain a yellow entry form, available in shops, pubs and other outlets in the village, send it in and a "rider pack" with everything you need to know will be with you by return. Whichever you choose we will be delighted to see you.
If a cycle ride is not for you this year but you would like to help us run it we would be very pleased to hear from you. Each year we take great care to ensure that the route is well signposted and attended by marshals who help ensure a safe ride. We also need help at Bohunt to make sure it all goes to plan.
